Policies
Facility
- Smoking is not permitted in any part of the facility
- Food and beverages are not allowed in the studio unless permission
is given by the staff. Water bottles with sport tops are permitted
in all areas. This applies to dancers, siblings and parents!
- Please - no running inside or outside the studio.
- Street shoes are not to be worn in the studios. Students must wear
dance shoes only, parents and siblings are asked to remove their street
shoes if they enter a studio.
- Animals are not allowed in the studios or on the front lawn.
- Everyone is welcome to be in our waiting area; however parents assume
full responsibility for the actions and behavior of all children under
their supervision. Parents will be asked to remove children whose behavior
or excessive noise- making is disruptive to the dance classes or any
other function at the studio.
- Parents assume all responsibility for breakage of studio property
or damage to the facility done by their children enrolled or otherwise.
Only dancers are allowed in the studios and dressing area. Siblings
and friends are asked to remain in the waiting area.
- For the safety of all children, no one is permitted to stand on the
windowsill or any furniture in the lobby area.
Drop off / Pickup Procedures
- Children under the age of 9 must be accompanied into the building
by an adult who stays until the beginning of their class.
- Please drop your 9 and older dancer at the studio no sooner than
ten minutes before their class starts. Teachers are not available to
supervise your children prior to or at the end of class. Dancers are
expected to behave appropriately and to wait in the dressing room or
lobby area until the teacher escorts them to class.
- Your are expected to pick up your child promptly after class.
Cancellations, Snow and Inclement Weather
- In case of bad weather, please call the studio and cancellation information
will be on the answering machine. Information for morning classes will
be available by 9:00 am and for afternoon and evening classes by 1:00
PM.
Classes
- All students are expected to be on time and properly attired and groomed
for their classes. Please refer to the dress code.
- Hair must be neat for all students.
- Hanging on the barres, touching the mirrors and talking during class
are not permitted.
- Proper behavior is expected of all students. Students are expected
to treat faculty, fellow dancers and studio property with respect.
- 4 make up classes are allowed per year. Classes may be made- up in
another class of the same or lower level. All classes must be made up
prior to March 1st.
- Faculty is subject to change.
- Spotlight Studio of Dance reserves the right to cancel/combine classes due to insufficient
enrollment.
Dress Code
For Ballet, all girls must wear pink tights and pink ballet shoes. No additional shirts may be worn. Hair must be
pulled off the face. Boys must wear
dance pants, a leotard or white T-shirt or unitard. Leotards
of any color may be worn for jazz, tap or modern. No street clothes and
no jewelry in any class. Students not properly attired will not be admitted
to class!

Spring Recital
There will be a Spring Recital for all Spotlight Studio of Dance
students. Specific information will be posted on the home page in March.
